Clean drinking water – now!
We are currently seeking for funding for the drinking water supply in Saware.
The project includes spring capping, filtration, a reservoir, a pump and a distribution network. To ensure a holistic and sustainable approach, the community is involved from the very beginning and will also help with the construction. As part of the project, a local water consortium will be established in the village, training courses will be held and proper maintenance of the drinking water system will be ensured.
Therefore we need your support! Help us and bring clean water to Saware!
Clean water saves lives!
For preparation, we have already conducted a study on the best option for accessing safe drinking water within the village, with the support of experts from the Water Department of Arba Minch University.
Latest activities
- Feasibility study and detailed design report for water supply in Saware village – elaborated in February 2025.
- Reparation of solar installations at health centre and school in Tida (with the support of the team of Sahay Solar association in Switzerland) and at health centre in Dalbeza in February and March 2025. The health centres and the school now have lighting and electricity again. A big advantage for health and daily life!
- Delivery of medical equipment to the health centre in Dalbeza, February 2025.
